Counties with largest forest area

National efforts to address the challenges of climate change are paying off and for the first time, Kenya has surpassed the targeted 10pc tree cover set in March 2018. 

The national tree cover now stands at 7,180,000.66 Ha representing 12.13pc whereas forest cover now stands at 8.83pc.

According to a report on the national forest resources assessment for the year 2021 the government has set a new target of 30pc forest cover by the year 2050.
