Biden Endorsed Harris After Dropping Out of Presidential Race

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Joe Biden stated that he will endorse Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for the US presidential race in 2024.

Biden has declared that he will withdraw his re-election bid, upending the presidential campaign four months before the Americans vote in November.

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.

My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President.

And it’s been the best decision I’ve made.

Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump.

Let’s do this.

Joe Biden Drops Out of Presidential Race

The decision comes after weeks of tremendous criticism from other Democrats following a fumbling and occasionally confusing debate performance against Republican Donald Trump in late June.

Biden had rejected calls to step down, despite growing doubts about his mental state and ability to defeat Trump.

The announcement clears the way for another Democrat to become the party’s presidential nominee, with Harris the most likely successor.

He will serve as president until January, when the winner of the 2024 election takes office.
