Bandari FC, a Kenyan FKF Premier League side, has announced the acquisition of three new players ahead of the second leg of the season. After an underwhelming first leg, the club is hoping to improve its performance and finish the season strong.

The first new signing is winger Joe Waithira, who joins the team from Sofapaka. Waithira was previously with Wazito FC and Nakumatt FC before terminating his contract with Sofapaka over a month ago. His addition to the team is expected to boost their attacking department and provide more options upfront.

Amos Asembeka, a central midfielder, is also joining Bandari as a free agent after his move to Tanzania’s Prisons FC fell through. Asembeka was previously with Wazito FC as well, and his experience and quality are expected to make a positive impact on the team’s midfield.

The third signing is Johanna Mwita, who is returning to Bandari six months after leaving the team. Mwita’s addition is also expected to bolster the team’s attack and provide more depth in that department.

Coach Anthony Kimani expressed his satisfaction with the new signings, describing them as quality players who will reinforce the team. He added that the priority was to boost the team’s attack, which struggled in the first leg.

“We needed to have options upfront, and that’s why we brought Waithira and Mwita on board; they are both good attackers and give us quality depth in our attacking department. Asembeka is an experienced midfielder; he’s quality, and I am happy to have him with us,” said Kimani in an interview with Mozzart sports,

Although the team is currently unbeaten in the last five games, they finished the first leg in the ninth position with 24 points. The new signings are expected to improve the team’s overall performance and help them climb up the league standings. Kimani also hinted that the team is still looking to sign one more attacker before the transfer window closes.

“We are looking for one more player in attack, and if we get him, we’ll bring him in. If we do not, we will have to play the remainder of the season with those we have,” he said.
