Thousands of Fans had thronged the stadium as early as 9 am.

From the ticket sales, 550,000/= was paid to Sports Kenya as stadium hiring charges, and a further 107,920/= was paid to them as revenue share from the total gate collections.

Other payments included 20,000/= to the police, 10,000/= for the ambulance, and 5000/= for the ball boys, among others.

Meanwhile, the match pitting the two sided ended in a barren draw. The draw moved K’Ogalo to third on the log with 24 points with two games in hand, while Leopards remain eighth on 18 points.

Gor has won 34 times, while Leopards have 28 victories, and 33 draws have been shared between the sides.

After the match, AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems revealed that he was surprised by his opponents’ style of play.

The Belgian tactician revealed that he was astounded by K’Ogalo utilizing long balls in the game, which led to him issuing instructions to counter the tactic.

“I was a little bit surprised by the play style of Gor Mahia because they played long balls but they are much more aggressive on the second ball and they are able to play this way because they have good players in the middle.

The job was to be very focused on the second ball, we had some problems in the first 15-20 minutes but I gave some instruction and it was much better and in the second half – we created opportunities and they were not able to score,” said Aussems.

Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinistry was impressed with the draw but acknowledged that his charges were not at their best.

“It is a fair result though chances were scarce for both teams. Leopards were on top of the game in the last minute and threw everything to get a goal. Even with that both teams played good football,,” said McKinstry.
