Renowned Kenyan singer and entrepreneur, Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has announced a work-related tour to Switzerland scheduled for next month.
On Sunday, the 43-year-old musician participated in a banner unveiling that revealed she would be performing at the sixth edition of the Ramogi Festival in the country on March 2nd. This holds a special significance as Switzerland was supposed to be the destination for her wedding.
The mother of five shared further details, expressing that her partner and manager, Nelly Oaks, will be accompanying her to the European country.
“Switzerland. How I love this land ���������. Indeed, I will come with my Nelly Oaks for your information only ���������. Don’t say I didn’t tell you earlier,” Akothee wrote beneath the banner she posted on Facebook.
Akothee continued to express her immense love for her fans in Switzerland.
This will be Akothee’s first tour to Switzerland since her formal separation from her ex-husband, Denis ‘Omosh’ Schweizer, in July. The musician and Omosh had planned a second wedding in the country in July of the previous year, which did not materialize as they separated before the scheduled date.
Akothee confirmed the dissolution of her marriage to Omosh in November during a live session with her fans on social media.
In that session, the mother of five revealed that she left the short-lived marriage in June, during their honeymoon.
“I have moved on from that relationship. It’s no longer there. I want to tell you that I left that relationship in June. However, I won’t go into details,” Akothee said.
She added, “I enjoyed my marriage; I enjoyed my wedding. I don’t regret anything. I had my wedding on my birthday. If things went wrong, as they have, I have no regrets.”
The 43-year-old artist hinted that she left her marriage after learning things she did not know before. However, she admitted that she did not inform her Swiss ex-husband about her decision immediately. Even when they said their goodbyes, she deceived him by saying she would not leave him.
“I exited the relationship in June. Normally, I leave my relationship while I am still in it. When we were on our honeymoon, I discovered some things that I couldn’t tolerate. Then he asked me, ‘Will you leave me?’ I said, ‘No, my love, I love you.’ When I was leaving Switzerland in July, at the airport, he asked me, ‘Will you leave me?’ I said, ‘No, my love, I love you.’ But in reality, I had already left,” Akothee recounted.
