Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba has denied that he is headed for the Jubilee Party after quitting the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Mr.Namwamba was countering reports attributed to Deputy President William Ruto that prominent members of the ODM party from Western are quitting the party in favour of Jubilee.

“There is no deal by myself or any member of the team involved in this initiative to join the Jubilee Party,” Mr. Namwamba said in a press statement.

He added that his immediate focus was uniting the Luhya community to form a formidable political force in readiness for the 2017 general elections.

“My colleagues and I are firmly focussed on our agenda of realizing the political aspirations of the Mulembe Nation and the bigger western renaissance. We shall not be distracted by the wild propaganda and speculation about our destination or who we shall partner with in that journey,” he said.

Mr. Namwamba rubbished reports that he and Paul Otuoma were being bankrolled by the Jubilee Party to destroy the Cord coalition. “We have seen, heard and read all manner of spurious propaganda spewed against us. Oh, we are being bankrolled by Jubilee, oh we are moles, oh, we have been paid to wreck ODM… All that is hogwash,” he said.
