The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission’s (EACC) latest report confirms a harsh reality that Kenyans have long faced: the Kenya Police Service is the most corrupt institution in the country. This is not just a perception—it is an everyday reality.

It shows in the extortion at every roadblock, the bribes asked for before help is given, and the bullets fired into peaceful crowds. The police do not just rob us; they kill us.

We remember Albert Ojwang, who was arrested, tortured, and murdered inside Central Police Station in Nairobi. Police claimed he “collapsed after hitting his head on the wall.” Evidence now shows he was beaten to death. His killers remain free.

We remember the Gen Z protesters—dozens executed, some shot in the head by snipers, others abducted and later found dead in bushes, rivers, or mortuaries. Many never returned home. Families have had to pay bribes to recover the bodies of their loved ones.

The Kenya Police Service operates like a gang that is only accountable to itself and the Executive. Yesterday’s EACC report confirms they are stealing from us more than any other public institution.

    We demand:

Total disbandment of the Kenya Police Service and the creation of a new model focused on the people.

Devolved policing with local oversight under national standards.

Higher recruitment standards, with a minimum qualification of KCSE C plain.

Immediate arrest of all killer cops.

An independent and empowered NPSC to vet, discipline, and oversee officers.

Financial independence for IPOA, with commissioners appointed by NPSC and not the Executive.

If the police remain the same, Kenya will never be free. Human rights will remain just a slogan, justice will be a luxury, and democracy a lie.

We demand Life, Safety, Dignity, and Justice. If the police will not serve us, they must be removed.
