High-profile role Former Radio Citizen host Shatta Bway has landed at Radio 47

Former Radio Citizen host Steve Jacob Maunda, also known as Shatta Bway, has embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining Cape Media Limited shortly after announcing his departure from Royal Media Services (RMS).

Shatta Bway’s transition was confirmed in a statement released by Radio47, revealing that he would be taking on the role of a show host for both TV47 and Radio47 at Cape Media.

Additionally, he has been appointed as the Director of Projects and Strategy for Maybet, a subsidiary of Cape Media Limited.

“Shatta Bway joins Cape Media Limited; he will be the Director of Projects and Strategy for Maybets as well as TV47 and Radio47  host,” read the statement in part.

The announcement of Shatta Bway’s new role comes just days after he bid farewell to RMS, where he had established himself as a prominent radio personality.

In his departure message, Shatta Bway emphasized his decision to prioritize spending more time with his family, particularly his teenage son.

“Where I am at in life, I am making decisions as two parents. I have to think like a mother and as a father and I need time with my children.

“My son is a teenager aged 13 years old and that is the point a parent is like to lose their children unknowingly,” he stated then.

Shatta Bway’s move to Cape Media marks a reunion with his former colleague, Willis Raburu, who hosts the popular Wabebe Xperience show on TV47.

Raburu, who was promoted to the role of Director of Digital Services and Innovations at Cape Media in December 2023, extended a warm welcome to Shatta Bway, signaling the beginning of an exciting collaboration between the two media personalities.
