Archbishop Duncan Williams, a well-known figure in Ghana, has stirred the believers in his church by sharing a testimony during a service, claiming that he went to heaven and spent 1 hour and 45 minutes with God.
This revelation from the respected clergy has sparked intense debate on social media platforms in West Africa, with users expressing varying opinions on the matter.
In the video, Duncan Williams can be seen and heard narrating his experience of being in heaven for an hour and 45 minutes.
According to him, his spirit was taken out of his body for this unique experience during one of his Sunday worship sessions.
It was an extraordinary record of his worship that day when he had the revelation.
The founder and presiding bishop of Action Chapel International stated, “When I went to Heaven… I went to Heaven for 1 hour and 45 minutes, I was taken out of my body to Heaven for 1 hour and 45 minutes, and I saw very interesting things… an angel brought me a tall mountain, and the grass was like diamonds…”
This is not the first time a religious leader has been heard preaching about experiences that some, especially in street contexts, label as ‘fantasy stories.’
Two months ago a pastor from Uganda who claimed to have been swallowed and spat out by a lion after about 45 minutes.
Prophet William Ssozi explained that he was swallowed by a lion during his early days of ministry in a part of South Africa, and he continued to say that it was in the lion’s stomach where he learned to prophesy.
“In South Africa is where I witnessed something that completely changed my life. I was swallowed by a lion. We had gone for a walk in the park, and our car ran out of fuel in the middle of the park. I don’t know how it happened, but we started hearing lion roars, and we were very scared. They told me, being the pastor, to pray for them.”
“The lion came, and among all my friends, the lion chose only me and swallowed me. And it was in the lion’s stomach that God came to me and spoke to me, telling me how I would start prophesying more deeply,” he added.
“I had my own prophecy school in the lion’s stomach.”
