Former TV host Grace Ekirapa reportedly dumps Pascal Tokodi after going broke

Recent reports have surfaced that actor and singer Pascal Tokodi has dumped former NTV’s Crossover host Grace Ekirapa over financial constraints.

The couple, who tied the knot in October 2020 in an exclusive ceremony, has reportedly been living apart for two months, starting in November 2023.

“Pascal and Grace haven’t been living together for two months now. They parted ways last November, Pascal moved back to Karen where he had been living before they met, and Grace remained in Limuru where they had been living together,” the source told Nairobi News.

While both Pascal and Grace have maintained a facade of a blissful union on social media, a close insider revealed that financial constraints played a pivotal role in the strain that ultimately led to their separation.

According to the source, Pascal Tokodi assumed the role of the primary breadwinner in the relationship.

The burden of sustaining a lavish lifestyle on limited resources took its toll, creating tension within the marriage.

“Grace grew tired of living in Kitengelea and suggested they move to Limuru because she wanted to be close to her sisters. They would again renovate the house remember Pascal is the one footing all these bills because Grace is technically jobless. Throughout their marriage the pressure has always been for Pascal to maintain their expensive lifestyle.” A source told Nairobi News.

Grace Ekirapa, described as a stay-at-home mom, reportedly had reservations about Pascal’s circle of friends and even opposed certain career choices, including his collaboration with King Kaka.

“Ever since he married Grace, she has always had an issue with Pascal’s friends. I was one of the friends who cut links with them; we just started talking the other day, and a majority of people he used to associate with as well. She even didn’t want him to do the King Kaka collabo, arguing that they were exploiting him,” the source added.

One notable point of contention was the couple’s decision to invest in a car.

Allegedly, Pascal preferred a more modest option, like a Demio, while Grace advocated for a more extravagant purchase, leading to the acquisition of a Mazda CX-5 at Sh1.9 million.

The financial strain was further compounded by the pressure to maintain an expensive lifestyle throughout their marriage.

Their living arrangements also underwent significant changes, from residing in Kitengela to relocating to Limuru, with Pascal shouldering the financial responsibility for multiple rounds of renovations. The source emphasized that the pressure on Pascal to meet these financial expectations became a recurring theme in their relationship.
