Former Harambee stars international Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has finally broken his silence days after being linked with a move to Bandari FC who sacked ther coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani after their 3-0 loss againts AFC Leopards.
Earlier Source who spoke to Newsday Kenya on the condition of anonymity, the Mombasa-based club Bandari was considering appointing the former Kenyan international as their new coach.
“We are considering speaking to Sammy Omollo to see if he would be interested in taking the mantle when the new season begins.” A source told Newsday Kenya.
However, During an interview with Mozzart Sports, Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo, the former Kenyan police tactician, revealed that he was actively searching for ways to return to coaching after a rejuvenating break.
He claimed that he would only consider joining a club with long-term plans, which would provide him with enough time to build a strong and competitive team. .
“If an offer comes, I will definitely consider it because football has been my business and I do not want to stay out for long. But it has to be the right offer because I have learnt a lot from these teams.
Sometimes it is what the team wants in their long-term plans and that is what I am looking at. I will always welcome any team that will offer long term plans and give me enough time to build a strong team,” the coach told Mozzart Sport.
Pamzo is a well-respected figure in Kenyan football, having played for the national team and several top clubs in the country.
He boasts of vast coaching experience. He has previously managed a number of Kenyan clubs including Oserian, Mahakama, and Sony Sugar.
The former Gor Mahia player has also had a spell with Tusker and Posta Rangers.
His most recent coaching stint at Kenya police ended in disappointment, but he is still highly regarded by many in the football fraternity.
