A 12-year-old girl whom police have identified as,Tiffany Ochieng, was viciously defiled and murdered on her way home from a wedding rehearsal in Homa Bay County on the evening of Saturday, December 28, in Homa Bay County.
In a report published by the Daily Nation, Ochieng’s body was recovered lying in a bush by a resident who then reported the incident to the police in Lwanda Village B in East Kanyamwa location.
Upon being taken to the Ndhiwa Sub County Hospital, preliminary tests confirmed the girl had been defiled before being brutally murdered.
According to Homa Bay County Police Commander, Esther Seroney, the 12-year-old was heading home after preparing for a forthcoming wedding when she met her death.
”We appeal to locals to give the police any information that can lead to the arrest of suspects, DCI detectives are doing all they can to ensure that the girl’s family gets justice.”
Further, the police urged residents to be more vigilant with their children and ensure they were not left unsupervised
”Parents should ensure their children get home before darkness falls,” advised Seroney.
The publication also indicated that Ndhiwa Sub County reported over 2,600 cases of teenage pregnancies in 2019Â and is one of the leading regions in cases of defilement.
