The Ministry of Education has reopened Precious Talent School located along Ngong Road, Nairobi County after the school was shut down in September 2019, following the tragic collapse of one of the classes.
The accident, blamed on substandard building structures, claimed the lives of seven students while more than 60 students were hospitalized.
Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha noted that the school has now put up new structures in compliance with Covid-19 health regulations.

He lauded the school for the tremendous improvement and strides the school had taken to ensure the safety of the pupils and staff.
“The owner of this school has done some commendable work. I am giving him two more weeks to correct some flaws in classrooms.
“In the meantime, the school can start allowing pupils to report,” Magoha said.
About 800 pupils were transferred to neighboring schools when Precious Talent was closed.
Speaking to a local media house, the school principal Moses Wainaina noted that the school was in the final touches ahead of reopening.
He added that despite the tragedy, he was hopeful that students would have a smooth transition back to the school.
“We are trying to meet all Covid-19 protocols. We have pending requirements, which we will be addressing within the next one week,” Wainaina stated.
He noted that the school had been posting good results academically.
During the previous 2019 KCPE results, three students attained the coveted 400 marks and above out of 500.
Grace Achieng Lwoka, Nicole Sangwera Sianyo, and Martin Mwangi Yiminyi scored 408, 405, and 402 marks respectively.
