Nasa leader Raila Odinga has been admitted at Mombasa Hospital after addressing rallies in Kilifi County. His last rally was reportdely in Malindi.
This has been confirm by his spokesperson Dennis Onyango has confirmed.
Mr Onyango, on his Facebook page, said that Raila was hospitalised over what they suspected to be a case of food poisoning.
“Yes the NASA presidential candidate has been hospitalized after successful rallies in Kilifi County. We suspect food poisoning. We will give more comprehensive updates based on reports from doctors attending to him. Governor Ali Hassan Joho and NASA principals are with Mr. Odinga,” he posted.
He further said that more information will be provided later.
While at the Mombasa International Airport where he was to take a flight back to Nairobi, Raila Odinga felt slightly unwell.
His colleagues with him, including Mr Kalonzo Musyoka, Mr Musalia Mudavadi, Mr Moses Wetangula and Senator James Orengo decided that a doctor should examine him before  travelling. Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is also at the hospital.
This is the second time in the past few months that the opposition leader is suffering from suspected food poisoning.
It remains to be seen what new effect this development will have on the upcoming general elections that are less than a month away.
