Mulamwah: I could be languishing in poverty if I pursued my nursing career

Comedian Kendrick Mulamwah, known for his witty humor and digital prowess who has carved a niche for himself in the online entertainment sphere has revealed why he could still be languishing in poverty if he pursed his nursing career

Standing tall among the digital elite, Mulamwah boasts a staggering monthly income exceeding Sh1 million, a testament to his entrepreneurial acumen and creative flair.

Mulamwah who earns a salary of not less than Sh 1 million, In an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, Mulamwah offers a glimpse into his journey from nursing aspirations to internet sensation.

Reflecting on his success, he expresses no regrets about veering off the traditional career path.

“I don’t regret anything because I have achieved so much in a short period of time through content creation. I don’t think I would have achieved as much in nursing, but I also believe that talent and education go hand in hand,” he said.

Mulamwah advocates for the importance of education alongside talent, asserting that it provides essential skills for navigating the digital landscape.

“Talent without education is not enough. You will still suffer because you need the knowledge to read contracts and interact with your fans. Education is the first thing you should get. Although I am a comedian, I will always be a nurse by profession, but talent can fade away any day.”

Revealing his impressive earnings, Mulamwah discloses his rates, ranging from Sh100,000 to Sh200,000 per post, depending on the deal and platform.

“At the moment, I charge from Sh100,000 per post in a week, depending on the deal and the length of the contract. Some posts even go for Sh200k each, depending on which social media platform the client wants. If they want the post on all social media sites, then the rates are a bit higher. At the moment, I have countless brands that I work with”.

Despite his financial success, Mulamwah remains grounded, often opting for matatus as his mode of transport to glean inspiration for his content.

He believes in the power of human interaction, drawing inspiration from everyday encounters to create relatable comedy.

Looking ahead, Mulamwah hopes to leave a lasting legacy as someone who defied odds and transformed his dreams into reality.
