Revealed: Willis Raburu’s last heartfelt word before leaving TV47

The journalist who was a member of the media house resigned from TV47 on Tuesday, April 30.

On his last day, employees at the company were concerned whether this signaled a downsizing in the company that had been embroiled in hiring battles.

“Yesterday was tough enough watching all your confused and worried faces, but here we are,” he addressed the current situation at TV47.

“I’ll genuinely miss you all; we were starting to find stability, and working together seamlessly had become the hallmark of my life.”

He reassured his former colleagues that nobody should let anyone convince them they don’t deserve to be in their current positions.

As TV47 seeks to reaffirm its presence in mainstream media, Raburu stated he believed the current team had the potential to grow and perform well in the sought-after future.

“If we can go to bed at night knowing we tried, then we’ve done all we could for that day,” read part of his farewell message.

Though he didn’t announce his next move, Raburu told his former colleagues he expected to see them in the news industry.

Raburu’s tenure at TV47 lasted only eight months, and at the time of resignation, he was the Director of Digital Services and Innovation.
