Yesu Nyinyandue hitmaker William Gatembe has called out willing kenyans to help him raise sh234,000 after he was arrested over claims of producing illegal content.
The artiste was apprehended on Monday, March 11, and taken to Kapsoya Police Station in Eldoret.
After enduring hours of detention, Getumbe was granted release on a Sh 10,000 cash bail.
Despite his release, he faces charges related to his failure to obtain a KFCB license.
He revealed that he was presented with a substantial fee of Sh 243,000 as part of the licensing requirements.
Getumbe emphasized that he did not produce most of his music or videos and only created some using his smartphone.
He contracted professional video producers for the remaining videos, and their credentials are well-documented.
He has reached out to the public for assistance, appealing for donations to cover the licensing fee. “I don’t have the funds to cover the KSh 234,000. Any support or useful assistance regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated,” he stated.
