A man from Elgeyo Marakwet has tragically taken the life of his wife in a cold-blooded murder, following a series of threats made through his X account.
Evans Kosgei had posted several tweets, explicitly threatening violence against his wife, even tagging law enforcement and mainstream media in his disturbing messages.
In a lengthy thread on X, previously known as Twitter, Kosgei recounted the story of how he met his now-deceased wife during their time in high school, leading to a relationship and eventual marriage after the birth of their first child.
However, their marriage became strained with allegations of infidelity after his wife secured employment. Kosgei admitted to invading her privacy by going through her phone, uncovering evidence of her involvement with another man.
For the past month, he had been methodically planning the tragic outcome that unfolded.
“My sweetheart, you chose to betray the vows we made to each other nine years ago. I placed my trust in you, confiding in you more than I did with my own parents. Only for you to betray that trust after gaining financial independence. But it’s alright. May this serve as a lesson to others,” read one of Kosgei’s tweets.
Currently, Kosgei is evading authorities following the horrendous act he committed.
