Dennis Itumbi breaks silence after Jacque Maribe landed new government job

Journalist and digital expert Dennis Itumbi, on Sunday, congratulated his friend Jacque Maribe after securing a good government position.

Maribe, who was recently acquitted of charges in the Monica Kimani murder case, was appointed as the head of communications at the Ministry of Public Service, Labor, and Service Delivery, led by Minister Moses Kuria.

While congratulating his friend on her new role, Itumbi prayed for blessings as she embarked on this new journey.

“Congratulations Jacque Maribe – May God bless you as you serve,” Itumbi wrote on Facebook.

He also thanked Minister Moses Kuria for the appointment, saying, “Thank you Minister Hon. CS Moses Kuria for standing with the generation, please continue doing good and extending your hand.”

Maribe was acquitted of the charges in the Monica Kimani murder case on February 9, 2024, by Judge Grace Nzioka of the Milimani Court for lack of evidence.

According to Judge Nzioka, the charge brought against Maribe was not properly substantiated.

“It is my opinion that the charge brought against the second accused was not the correct charge,” she said.

Shortly after Maribe was acquitted last month, Itumbi wrote a lengthy statement celebrating the court’s decision.

In his statement, Itumbi expressed feeling vindicated after all charges against the former journalist were dropped.

He insisted that Maribe did not kill the late businesswoman in 2018 and accused the former head of investigations of dragging her into the case.

“Jacque Maribe is FREE! Maribe DID NOT kill Monica. Damn! I feel vindicated!” Itumbi wrote on Facebook.

He added, “It has been six years, a journey of shadows, where unjust chains sought to bind the spirit of a great friend, a beautiful soul, a friend I greatly value. Today, truth has revealed its light, dispelling darkness.”

The journalist also took the opportunity to encourage Maribe to rise again after what she had been through in the past six years since the case began.

He also stated that he does not regret standing by the single mother throughout the entire six-year period of the case.
