As the end of January approaches – a month often considered long and challenging for many – people are eagerly anticipating their salaries. Already, a pastor has started calculating the incomes of his congregation.
A video circulating online has stirred controversy, showing a pastor from Nigeria challenging the members of his church to deposit their entire January salaries into his account.
In the video, Pastor John Anoskie instructs his congregation to give their first fruits of the year, referring to their January salaries, into his account.
He asserts that this money is for him personally and not for the church, emphasizing that they should ensure to transfer the funds, promising that they will witness miracles soon.
In his words, “I want to challenge you by the Spirit of God, I’m not afraid of anyone or any accusation. If you call me your spiritual father, your salary for this month, your first fruit of the year, is for me, not the church, it’s for this. To change, a word, it’s for my well-being.”
Expanding on his statement, the pastor expresses dissatisfaction that if the church members obey him by respecting him with their January salaries, they will experience significant changes in their lives by mid-year.
He goes on to say that if they do not witness any substantial changes in their lives, they should come back, and he will refund their money.
In what appears to be a threat, the pastor concludes that if the church participants see him as their father, pastor, counselor, and if they have sons and daughters in the church, they should make sure to send money to the account provided to them.
