The Kisumu All Stars assistant coach Charles Bruno believes his stable has what it takes to upset title-chasing Shabana in their final game of the National Super League (NSL) on Sunday at the Gusii Stadium.
All Stars whose impressive run in the last three matches have elevated them to 11th on the log defeated struggling Kibera Black Stars 2-1 on Sunday at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu and will bid to end their season with a win against Shabana.
“We won our game against Kibera Black Stars and this gives us an extra boost towards approaching the Saturday’s game. Now we embark on the preparation for the game and my players are ready,” he said.
His side has had an underwhelming season typified wrangles over sponsorship with the Kisumu County government that affected their on-field performances.
“It’s been a long season, and we want to wrap it up on a high. Everyone, including my technical bench, is looking forward to the game, and we will give it our best. We’ll approach the Shabana game with a lot of fight and energy,” said Bruno.
Bruno says the team is determined to end the season on a high note against Shabana despite not achieving their objective this season.
“We will regroup and organize ourselves and try to have an amazing season. That is the new season that will start from September,” he added.
While acknowledging the daunting task of playing a side chasing title glory on the final day of the season, Bruno noted that they will go for all points on offer regardless.
“I’m not expecting an easy match. We will approach this game with our heads up,” he said.
