Kisumu All Stars, a National Super League side, is currently facing a difficult situation as they find themselves stranded in Kajiado after their 2-0 loss against Kajiado FC.
The situation is further compounded by the fact that the team’s bus has run out of fuel, and they have no money to refuel.
In a post on their Facebook page, the Kisumu-based club called on well-wishers to help them travel back to Kisumu.
”We are kindly requesting well wishers and our fans to come to our aid and help us raise money for fuel. We are currently stuck in Kajiado. Contributions can be channelled to the Team Manager via 0705230618,” a post on their facebook page read.
The reason for Kisumu All Stars’ appeal for help arises from the financial challenges experienced by clubs to attend away matches, caused by the absence of league sponsorship.
Meanwhile, In Today’s NSL matches, played on Saturday 6th May 2023, there were some notable results in the FKF NSL league.
Naivas FC secured an emphatic 4-0 victory against Kibera Blackstars, with four different players getting on the score sheet. Ken Mutembei opened the scoring for Naivas in the first minute, followed by Francis Gethoi and Julius Ngigi in the 5th and 7th minute, respectively. John Kelwish scored the fourth goal in the 82nd minute to seal the victory for Naivas FC.
Silibwet FC and Muranga Seal played out a goalless draw, with both teams failing to find the back of the net.
Meanwhile, Vihiga United lost 2-1 to Migori Youth in a closely contested match at the Mumias Complex.
Kaduka Godrick scored for Vihiga United in the 33rd minute, while Onyango Frederick scored twice for Migori Youth in the 10th and 73rd minutes to secure the win.
In another match, Mara Sugar FC secured a 1-0 win over Gusii FC in a tightly contested match.
