Harambee Starlets Coach Godfrey Oduor has named a provisional squad to face Albania in an international friendly scheduled for April 11, 2023, in Tirana.

The squad comprises a mix of experienced foreign-based players and in-form local-based players, as the coach seeks to rebuild the team after more than a year of inactivity.

The coach expressed his happiness in having the girls back and said that it is time to start moving the team forward.

He stated that the team has immense potential, and it is time to realize it.

The inclusion of new players, such as Desma Nyawade and Maximila Robi from Kisped Queens and Kibera Soccer in the FKF Women’s Division One, respectively, shows the coach’s intention to give new talent a chance to shine.

The squad also features a number of foreign-based players, including Mwanahalima Adam, Vivian Nasaka, and Phoebe Owiti, who play for Turkish side Hakkarigucuspor.

The Simba Queens trio of Jentrix Shikangwa, Vivian Corazone, and Ruth Ingosi are also included in the squad. The team will be captained by veteran defender Dorcas Shikobe from South African side Sethu.

The team’s goalkeeping department has not been left behind, with Cynthia Shilwatso from Kryvbas Women and Esse Akida from FC Paok making the squad alongside Kenya one Annedy Kundu from Rea Women FC and Lilian Awuor from ASJ Soyaux Charente.

The team will report to camp on March 30, 2023, ahead of their trip to Tirana. The coach will have a chance to assess the players in training and determine the final squad to travel to Albania.
