Shocking Twist: NSL coach resigns in the wake of ambulance controversy

Murang’a Seal, a Kenyan National Super League team, has parted ways with head coach Ezekiel Akwana after just five months, Mozzart sports revealed.

This comes hours after the Muranga based club match against Darajani Gogo FC was called off after the home team failed to produce a fully equiped ambulance.

Darajani Gogo FC waited for 45 minutes for Murang’a Seal to avail an ambulance before the match was called off .

Meanwhile, The former Kenyan international was brought on board to help the team earn promotion to the top tier in September 2022. However, it seems that an internal problem that has been ongoing for some time has resulted in his departure.

Despite Akwana’s departure, Murang’a Seal is still determined to achieve their goal of promotion to the top tier. Vincent Nyaberi, the former head coach who was relegated to the position of assistant coach when Akwana was appointed, has taken charge of the team once again. No decision has been made regarding bringing in another coach.

While it’s unfortunate that Akwana’s tenure at the club was cut short, his departure presents an opportunity for the team to regroup and refocus their efforts towards achieving their goal of promotion.

With Nyaberi back in charge, the team has a familiar face at the helm, and he will undoubtedly be working hard to ensure that the players are motivated and focused on their goal.

It’s worth noting that Akwana has previously coached several other teams in Kenya, including AFC Leopards, Mathare United, and West Kenya Sugar, among others.

While it’s unclear what the future holds for him, his experience and knowledge will undoubtedly be an asset to any team that he joins. For now, though, the focus is on Murang’a Seal and their quest for promotion to the top tier.
