Ali Hassan Kauleni’s Secret Reason for Leaving Radio Maisha: Revealed!

The recent departure of veteran radio presenter Ali Hassan Kauleni from Radio Maisha has raised eyebrows, with reports suggesting that his decision to quit was prompted by the Standard Media Group’s failure to pay workers for consecutive months.

Kauleni had worked at the media group for close to 13 years, during which he had established himself as one of the most prominent radio personalities in the country.

Kauleni made the announcement of his departure during the final edition of his Nuru ya Lugha morning show.

He thanked his fans for their unwavering support and acknowledged that change is inevitable. He stated that it was time for him to switch, but he did not disclose his next move.

“For close to 13 years, I have been hosting this programme but it is now time to say goodbye,” Kauleni noted as he signed out from Radio Maisha’s Saturday morning show.

“Life is about change just like birth, marrying and dying. Life is like celebrations or tears of joy. I bid farewell to you today,” he stated.

However, a source close to the media outlet revealed that Kauleni’s decision to quit was prompted by the standard media group’s failure to pay workers for consecutive months.

The alleged non-payment of workers has been a major issue for the media house, leading to an uncertain future for many of its employees.

Several prominent journalists have left the media house as part of a mass restructuring exercise that has seen several positions declared redundant. The media industry is facing significant challenges, including declining revenues and technological disruption.

Kauleni’s departure will undoubtedly leave a void in the media landscape.

He was known for his versatility as a multimedia journalist, working across radio, television, and print. He was famous for his eloquent football commentary on Radio Maisha, and he often joked around with his colleague Stephen Mukangai during their broadcasts.

Kauleni’s blend of oratory skills and Swahili language proficiency endeared him to his fans.
