Kakamega Homeboyz has parted ways with head coach John Baraza due to poor performances this season.

Technical Director Edward Manoah and Goalkeeper trainer John Waw have been appointed interim managers.

The club chairman has cited poor performance as the reason for the changes.

The interim appointments aim to improve the team’s results and demonstrate the new leaders’ ability to lead the team to success. The impact of these changes remains to be seen.

“This is due to the string of poor results we have been recording,” the club chairman said. “I assure fans that plenty of positive changes are on the way and we will start winning matches soon. I ask that they be patient for a while.”

The move comes after Homeboyz lost their last two fixtures; including a 0-1 defeat to Bandari FC on Wednesday afternoon that marked the end of John Baraza’s short tenure at the club.

The former Mara Sugar manager was appointed by the club October last year, replacing former team coach Bernard Mwalala who led the team to a second-place finish in the previous discarded season.

Following Baraza’s sacking, the club leadership added that they have asked the players to step up as they are also to blame.

“I have also asked the players to step up because they too should shoulder some blame,” the club chairman said. “Otherwise, those that do not will also be on the way out.”

Kakamega Homeboyz are currently eighth in the FKF Premier League table having won five of their 15 games. T
