Dandora All Saints booked their ticket to the semi finals after beating Wendani All Stars 3-1 at the ongoing Kothbiro football tournament taking place at the Umeme Grounds in Ziwani Estate.
Dandora All Saints took an early lead in the match after Murunga Edwin scored their first goal on the 23rd minute.
Harris Moses further widened the lead in the second half after scoring a goal on the 84th minute.
Two minutes later desperate Wendani All Stars would then net their sole goal of the match through Kenneth Onyango.
Their efforts for a comeback were however dampened further after Oketch Gerald netted Dandora All Stars goal at the 89th minute, just one minute before the final whistle.
Last year’s finalists Leads United were the last to book a slot at the semis after beating Dandora Soka Talent 4-2 in a penalty shootout.
The cut throat match saw the two teams hold each other to a 0-0 draw.
The semi finals have been moved to 30th January 2023 and 31st January 2023 where Team Korogez will face Eastleigh South United and Dandora New Saints to face Leads United respectively.
Kothbiro officials are still appealing for sponsors to help them finish the tournament successfully.
“We remain positive and hopeful that we will have a sponsor by the time the tournament gets to the final stage. We are appealing for like-minded sponsors to come up and help us run the tournament smoothly,” said Paul Ojenge, Kothbiro Chairman.
