Senator Kimani Wamatangi of UDA has been declared the new Kiambu Governor after beating six other candidates to clinch the coveted seat.
Wamatangi was presented with his certificate by County Returning Officer Arnold Mutwiri a few minutes before 1 am on Sunday morning after he garnered 348,370 votes ahead of his closest opponent, Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina ‘Jungle’, who got 237,361 votes.
