Farmers reap big from hybrid coconuts imported from India

    Kenya has begun harvesting the first batch of hybrid coconuts imported from India, boosting farmers yields to three times their initial harvests. The 6000 seedlings have borne fruits two and a half years after planting, a long shot from normal coconut trees which typically take six or more years to mature.
